VISIT WITH SANTA!

Saturday, December 10, 2011
11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Make out your list, check it twice and bring it to the Museum of Science and History because Santa is coming to town! Direct from the North Pole, Santa will be in the Museum’s atrium on Saturday, December 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring the kids and your camera for this opportunity for a free visit with the jolly one himself!

Then head to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame next door for another great photo op! Jessie the Cowgirl from Toy Story 2 (Grammy-Winning Devon Dawson) will be on hand for photos and entertainment for the kids, also 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dawson is the winner of Academy of Western Artists "Western Music Female Performer of the Year," but every once in a while, when nobody's lookin', she'll grab her red hat, saddlebags, and an old guitar, hittin' the trail, yodelin' as she goes! (The National Cowgirl Museum will also be offering 10% off in their Gift Shop that day).

Both events are free to all guests! You’re sure to enjoy our holiday decorations while you’re here. Be sure to come back in the evening and see our festive Caterpillar Light Walk near the Museum of Science and History entrance.

LIGHT UP YOUR HOLIDAYS AT THE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND HISTORY!

Christmas TreeThe Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is again lighting up the holiday season both inside and out! The newest attraction is a festive Caterpillar Light Walk near the entrance to the Museum of Science and History. Designed by Museum concept designer Amy Romans, it is composed of 53 arches of galvanized steel illuminated with more than 1,000 feet of LED energy-saving lights. The light walk flashes and “dances” to holiday music,  reflecting the joy of the season and bring smiles to children’s faces.

Elsewhere, bright Mexican luminaries, hand-crafted by tin artisans in Mexico, adorn the exterior of the Museum. Inspired by the architecture of Legorreta + Legorreta, the metal light cases reflect the square motif found throughout the building. Inside, the Museum’s atrium features a festive penguins and a huge holiday tree, decorated with bright lights, swirls of color, and more penguins. The unique tree is purple in color – again reflecting the Legorreta + Legorreta influence.
