Ride Around the World takes you on a spectacular journey through Morocco, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, British Columbia and Texas, to meet vaqueros, gauchos, baqueanos and cowboys – all part of a single global horse culture, an unbroken trail stretching back 1,500 years. These rugged men and women were often the first to settle the wild frontiers, helping lay the foundation in language, music and dress for the entire New World.
Ride Around the World combines stunning cinematography with some of the most fantastic action footage ever seen on the IMAX® screen to create a profound visual experience that will thrill audiences of every nationality, while uniting them in a shared heritage.
The global historical perspective is juxtaposed with an exciting running story filmed on the historic Four Sixes Ranch in West Texas. On this 500-square-mile working ranch, the film puts viewers in the saddle to experience what it is like to be a modern-day cowboy or cowgirl. Filmed in IMAX® 15/70, Ride Around the World also features compelling music and unforgettable characters. In its revolutionary look at a widely influential global culture, it creates a giant-screen experience that will educate and entertain viewers around the world.
Ride Around the World is the first large-format film from Trinity Films, an award-winning television and theatrical documentary company based in Austin, Texas. The production is led by producer/writer/director Harry Lynch, senior producer Jeff Fraley and producer Brady Dial. International horseman, writer and historian Jasper Winn serves as story consultant and researcher. Cinematographers Rodney Taylor and David Douglas capture the dramatic action and stunning landscapes with the IMAX® MSM camera. Celebrated composer Brian Satterwhite crafts the score, providing a beautiful musical backdrop to the stunning images.
Ride Around the World will show January 3 through February 4, 2012, to coincide with the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. All Omni Theater tickets during the Stock Show are $5 per person per show.
