All Aboard! THE POLAR EXPRESS: AN IMAX EXPERIENCE  will once again delight children and adults when it returns for the holidays to the Omni Theater on Saturday, November 17, 2012. The Omni Theater will offer the only domed IMAX presentation in the Southwest of this now-classic family favorite.

The holiday-themed film, based on the classic Caldecott medal-winning children's book written by Chris Van Allsburg, is directed by Oscar® winner Robert Zemeckis and stars two-time Academy Award® winner Tom Hanks. Using state-of-the-art CGI and performance capture technology to create a unique blend of realism and fantasy, it tells of a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole and embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

THE POLAR EXPRESS first opened in 2004 to critical acclaim, becoming one of the highest grossing films in IMAX history. It premiered at the Omni Theater in 2005, delighting thousands of North Texas families through the magic of IMAX. Digitally re-mastered with proprietary IMAX DMR technology, audiences become totally immersed in the IMAX presentation… watching snowflakes float down the giant IMAX screen and feeling the train rumble via state-of-the-art digital surround sound. Over the past few years, the film and its accompanying Saturday Polar Pajama Parties have become a holiday tradition for many Metroplex families.

“The IMAX presentation allows the viewers to experience the visual splendor and amazing adventure of this classic story in a way which should create a really memorable experience, not only this holiday season but for years to come,” said director Robert Zemeckis.

THE POLAR EXPRESS: THE EXPERIENCE is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Tickets for THE POLAR EXPRESS are $9 for adults, $8 for children (2-12) and seniors (65+). Basic Members receive a $3 per ticket discount, MAX Members receive half price per ticket. The film will show daily through December 23, 2012. Tickets can be purchased in advance online or by phone at 817-255-9540.
