- Up to two adults living in the same household may be listed on the membership.
- When visiting, at least one member named on the account must be present with a valid photo ID.
- Admission privileges do not include visits with school or other groups.
- Memberships are nontransferable, and cannot be shared between households.
- Memberships are refundable within 30 days of purchase only. Downgrades in membership levels are permissible, but there is no refund on the price difference.
- The Museum reserves the right to revoke membership and/or deny admission without refund for abuse of membership privileges or inappropriate conduct while visiting the Museum.
Purchasing a Membership
I already bought General Admission/Exhibit Halls tickets. Can my purchase go toward a new membership?
If you decide to purchase a membership when visiting the Museum, you may apply the cost of your General Admission/Exhibit Halls tickets to a new membership if it is purchased on-site on the same day as your visit. The maximum number of tickets you may apply is limited to the number of admissions the new membership allows (e.g., if you purchase a Wonder 2 membership you may turn in up to two tickets). Actual ticket stubs must be presented at time of purchase.
OMNI Theater and Planetarium ticket costs may not be applied to memberships. This opportunity is only available on-site the day of your visit; not by phone or online.
Can I put more names than just my own on a membership?
Up to two cards can be issued to two adults living in the same household. Adults living at separate addresses cannot be named on a single membership. You can purchase an authorized user card for up to one person per household who lives at a separate address for $25.
If I buy my membership today, can I visit and use my passes today?
Yes, if you purchase your membership on-site, or by phone, you will have immediate access to your benefits. A temporary membership card will be issued while at the Museum. Your membership packet will be sent within 4 to 6 weeks.
When purchasing online, your membership will be activated within 48 hours. Your membership packet will be mailed to you in 4 to 6 weeks. Bring your email receipt and valid photo ID to the box office to pick up your temporary card and passes. If you plan to use passes for OMNI Theater shows, you must request them at the box office.
To purchase your membership at the Museum and use your passes, go to the box office in the Museum lobby.
When purchasing your membership over the phone, the museum representative will give you an order number. Bring this number and valid photo ID to the box office to pick up your temporary membership card. If you plan to use passes for OMNI Theater shows, you must request them in on-site.
Is my membership good for a calendar year, or for a full year from time of purchase?
Memberships expire one year from the date of purchase, on the last day of the month. If you are renewing, your new membership year will begin when your current membership expires, so there is never a penalty for renewing early.
What exactly does membership give me free or unlimited admission to?
Membership gives you FREE, unlimited access to our Exhibit Halls and Planetarium, every day we are open. Free, unlimited admission benefits do not extend to the OMNI Theater or temporary exhibits requiring an additional ticket. Membership also provides FREE parking in the Museum’s Member Lot. Parking is limited; your valid membership card is required to gain access to the lot. During the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (typically the end of January through mid-February) free parking is not available.
Now that I am a member, how do I get into the Museum?
Show your membership card and valid photo ID at the box office to gain entry to the Exhibit Halls.
How long does it take to receive my membership cards? How do I visit the Museum before my cards arrive?
Permanent membership cards will arrive in the mail 4 to 6 weeks after you purchase your membership. If you purchase your membership at the Museum, you will receive a temporary card to use until your permanent cards arrive. If you find yourself at the Museum without your card, bring a valid photo ID to the box office for a temporary card.
Can I give my membership card to a friend or relative to use for a visit?
No, a friend or relative must be with a membership card holder named on the member household with a valid photo ID. However, you may give your guest passes to friends or relatives to use in your absence.
Can my teenage/adult son or daughter use my membership card in my absence?
No, memberships are not transferrable. You may give them your guest passes so they may visit without you.
Can we use our two Discover 5 Cards to admit ten people?
No, your membership will admit only up to the number of admissions permitted with your membership type each day. Two cards may be provided for your convenience.
Why did I only receive one card in the mail?
If there is only one name on the account, only one card will be issued.
I lost/forgot my membership card. What should I do?
If you are visiting the Museum, bring a photo ID to the box office and we will provide you with a temporary card. Permanent replacement cards may be ordered for $5 by calling the membership department at 817-255-9404 or emailing Membership.
My wallet was stolen! Can someone else use my membership?
Membership cards reported lost or stolen are deactivated. Call 817-255-9404 to report your missing cards. Replacement cards cost $5 and may be ordered over the phone by calling the membership department at 817-255-9404 or emailing Membership.
Can I use my cards at other museums?
All members can use their cards for general admission at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame and any museum that belongs to the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC). Wonder, Imagine and Dream members can also use their cards for general admission at Association of Children’s Museums member museums, the Perot Museum, Dallas and the Heard Natural Science and Wildlife Sanctuary, McKinney. Membership benefits may vary, please verify admission and parking policies with the museums you plan to visit ahead of time.
What is the difference between a Discover membership and a Wonder membership?

What does 2, 5, or 8 mean?
Each of these refers to the number of people allowed in the Exhibit Halls and Planetarium each day you visit. For example, a Discover 5 or Wonder 5 admits up to five people including the card holder.
I'm a Discover Level member. Can I upgrade my membership level to Wonder, Imagine or Dream? Can I upgrade the number of guests that my membership level permits?
Members may upgrade membership levels and/or increase in the number of people allowed within the Discover and Wonder admissions at any time. If your membership expires within three months, consider renewing early and you will receive your new benefits for the remaining time on your current membership as well as for the new membership year. Upgrades are not prorated. Downgrading to a lower membership level or the number of admissions within levels is permissible during your membership year but no refund on the price differential will be given.
Guest Passes and OMNI Theater e-Tickets
Can you explain the passes to me? Do I get them every time I visit?
Each year that you are a member, your benefits packet will include General Admission/Exhibit Halls guest passes and if you join at the Wonder, Imagine or Dream levels, you will also receive OMNI Theater e-ticket. [Discover level members receive $3 off OMNI Theater tickets]. Each pass may be redeemed for one free ticket to the specified venue. General Admission/Exhibit Halls passes can also be used to admit visitors above the number of admissions your membership allows. All guest passes can be given to friends to use in your absence. If you lose your passes, they cannot be replaced.
OMNI Theater e-Tickets can be redeemed in person or used when members make reservations by phone. They cannot be used online or at a kiosk. To pick up tickets after reserving by phone, be sure to bring your confirmation number.
Can I still use my expired guest passes?
No, passes are valid only for the duration of your Membership.
I lost my guest passes. Can I have new ones?
Unfortunately, because of their cash value, we cannot replace lost passes.
Is there a membership discount for educators? Military personnel? First Responders?
Educators may purchase memberships at a 10% discount with proof of school affiliation. This offer extends to educators from Pre-school through High School of public and private institutions.
Military personnel (active and veteran) and first responders (police, fire, EMT) may purchase memberships at a 10% discount with proof of service (such as ID card).
Is my membership tax deductible?
The Fort Worth Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so, yes, a portion of your membership may be tax deductible based on the amount paid less the fair market value of benefits provided in return. As of November 15, 2015 the deduction values are as follows:
- Discover 2 purchase price $75 (less $30 in fair market value) = $45 deduction
- Discover 5 purchase price $115 (less $30 in fair market value) = $85 deduction
- Discover 8 purchase price $165 (less $30 in fair market value) = $135 deduction
- Wonder 2 purchase price $125 (less $88 in fair market value) = $37 deduction
- Wonder 5 purchase price $195 (less $130 in fair market value) = $65 deduction
- Wonder 8 purchase price $255 (less $172 in fair market value) = $83 deduction
- Imagine purchase price $350 (less $202 in fair market value) = $148 deduction
- Dream purchase price $600 (less $260 in fair market value) = $340 deduction
