SINK YOUR TEETH INTO THREE
GIANT ADVENTURES
The Omni Theater, which has been undergoing renovations since September, is back brighter and better than ever with three exciting giant-screen adventures. Sink your teeth into these larger-than-life features:
Dinosaurs Alive!
Dinosaurs Alive! brings dinosaurs to life as never before!
Through computer-generated animation, combined with historical footage,
the film follows renowned paleontologists from the American Museum of Natural History as they uncover new fossils—including what may be the oldest dinosaur ever found in North America. |

Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs
Journey back thousands of years to the age of the great pharaohs and unravel some of the mysteries enshrouding the ancient royal mummies
- how they were embalmed and where they were hidden. It's an Indiana Jones-type tale of tomb-raiders and hidden treasure that led to one of the most significant archaeological finds in modern history.
Deep Sea
'Sea' life in a whole new way!
Deep Sea transports you below the ocean surface to swim with some of the planet’s most unique, dangerous and colorful creatures, from the unusual Wolf Eel to the Giant Pacific Octopus.

ROUND UP SOME SUMMER FUN
At the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame
There's more to sink you teeth into at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, our temporary
home during construction. Explore our prehistoric past in
Dinosaur Roundup and have more fun in
KIDSPACE and
Hands On
Studio. Upstairs, enter the world of the cowgirl through memorabilia, engaging films, and hands-on displays. Admission to both experiences is included for one exhibit price. Museum members are free, of course!
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE!
Museum tops out in July
Construction on the new Museum of Science and History facility reached a milestone in July as we celebrated
our topping out – placement of steel on the highest point of the structure. A brightly painted beam carrying hundreds of signatures from Museum supporters and members was raised to the top of the Urban Lantern, the future Museum entryway and focal point, to the backdrop of rousing music from Kids Who Care. View the
topping out video on our
YouTube page.
This month, the last of the building’s steel will arrive. Crews have already begun adding many of the studs to the building's frame, and its exterior skin will begin appearing throughout August. By the end of the month, 100 percent of work on the building's foundation work will be complete. Crews will install much of the electrical system, plumbing and duct work for the main portion of the facility. Remember, you can watch all the action through our live
webcam!
CALLING ALL EDUCATORS!
Be on the lookout for our 2008-2009 School Program Planner. |
| It will be online and in the mail later in August. Don't miss out on all the new experiences we have going on this year. We continue to offer two exhibit experience under one roof at the National Cowgirl Museum, and field trips to the Omni Theater are back! Our Discovery Lab on Wheels programs and Distance Learning opportunities will also continue. We are looking forward to a fantastic year. If you would like a planner mailed to you, please e-mail
